How to Play Catching Spring

This is a gentle interactive experience where you catch falling cherry blossom petals. Simply click or tap on the soft pink petals as they drift down through the sky. Each petal you catch brings a little more color back to the world, slowly transforming the grayscale landscape into a vibrant spring scene.

You don't need precise aim—the game is forgiving and designed to feel effortless. Occasionally, you'll see a golden petal fall. These are special and create beautiful effects when caught. You can also just move your mouse around without clicking to create gentle wind currents that push the petals around.

There's a Zen Mode (the eye icon) if you want to simply watch the petals fall and get caught automatically. Once you collect 15 petals, you unlock Night Mode—a peaceful evening scene with fireflies dancing under moonlit cherry blossoms. There's no timer, no pressure, just petals and springtime.

Why I Built This

I created this after remembering childhood springs when I believed that catching a falling cherry blossom would make your wish come true. There's something about that simple act—standing under pink branches with your hand stretched upward, hoping a single petal lands in your palm. It's absurd and beautiful at the same time.

I wanted to capture that feeling of reaching for something delicate and fleeting. Not because you need it, but because it's there, falling, and for a moment you decide to care. Most productivity apps want you to accomplish something. This one just wants you to watch petals fall and remember what it feels like to reach for beautiful things without needing a reason.

IIt's just a small digital space for those moments when you need to step away from everything urgent and spend a few minutes watching spring happen. A playful way to practice reaching for beauty instead of always looking down at what needs to be done.
